Chester’s shopping disrict was nothing to offer, every store has about the same thing in them and are very over priced. all of the good stores that were there i the 80′s are long gone and we as a city will never get good shopping back in Chester because of crime and our un careing youth

As far as I can remember, Mr. Jim Harper Sr. embodied the word activist and in an effective, yet unassuming, way demonstrated the power of community action over empty rhetoric. When members of the community had a difficult time as a minority contractor, the efforts of this great man dedicated to human service and local participation of laborers and contractors used his skills and knowledge to help the transition. (He was a) mentor (who went from) being a member of the local himself to getting contracts that created job opportunities for others. He will truly be missed and his world forever a reminder of the power of unity and teamwork.

Our heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to the family of the late Mr. Fareed. I just can’t imagine that who ever did this is able to sleep at night…..how do you even continue to walk the streets of Chester knowing that you committed such a senseless act that has changed an entire family and neighborhood for life……I had just purchased gas and got a newspaper just a few days ago from there….I really just don’t get it……but I will continue to pray for the city of Chester!!!!!

There is one person I very surprise you did not mention. Cephus Richardson (not Cpyrus), he is the youngest person ever to be elected on the Chester Upland School Board and also the youngest person in the state of Pennsylvania that will serve on the School Board .
