Although the Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law by President George H.W. Bush on July 26, 1990, its history dates back to February 1986. Then, the National Council on Disability published a report titled, “Toward Independence: An Assessment of Federal Laws and Programs Affecting Persons with Disabilities – With Legislative Recommendations.” As indicated by the title, the report was aimed at exploring existing federal programs accommodating those with disabilities, and recommending ways to further aid the community. CBS-3 celebrates the strength of newspapers with morning feature

By AndreBennett Philadelphia’s CBS-3 revamped its morning newscast in April, introducing longtime investigative and consumer-affairs reporter Jim Donovan to the anchor chair along with former “Eye Opener” host Brooke Thomas. But one of the most interesting additions to the show is a new feature simply titled, “Morning Headlines,” a look at the front pages of many of the Delaware Valley’s newspapers. ‘Nova Nation celebrated big time

‘Nova Nation came out to Center City Philadelphia in droves last Friday afternoon, as the NCAA National Champion Villanova Wildcats were celebrated with a parade down Market Street. An estimated 60,000 people cheered and held aloft signs despite chilly temperatures and wind as confetti fell upon them. Meanwhile, vendors sold Villanova merchandise of varying legitimacy while students distributed more ‘Nova Nation signs to parade goers. Villanova mascot Will D. Billy Elliot originally emerged as a 2000 movie about a young boy from an English mining town who defies his father’s wishes and follows his passion to become a ballet dancer.
