Last year’s fifth grade class at Stetser Elementary School in Chester became published authors. Members of that class recently returned to the school and joined with the current fifth grade class to host a book signing and health fair for families and the community.
The student authors, (from left) Tatiyiana Walker, Roneisha Carpenter, Kiaira Sudler, LaNya Bell, Makel Martin, DeSean Hubert and Aniyah Fairfax, published the book, “Stetser 5th Grade Talks Health” with help from the “Healthy Me Curriculum” partnership with Widener University’s Education and Nursing schools.
At the same time, current fifth grade students hosted a health fair to present findings from their recent health research during their partnership with Widener students. The fair also included interactive presentations showcasing students’ work this past semester.
