The 275th Library Anniversary Committee of the Darby Free Library will meet Saturday, Oct. 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the facility, 1001 Main St. in Darby Borough. The committee is planning a 2018 anniversary celebration of the oldest public library in America and is inviting willing new members. The library has been in operation since 1743.

Every Wednesday at 4 p.m. there will be a different fun activity with “Ms. Joyce” and “Construction Fridays” are held from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m.

On Friday, Oct. 21 starting at 7:30 p.m. a Halloween special program will be held featuring wine, cheese and spirits. Must be 21 or older to attend.
