The holidays were brighter for more than 50 Chester families because of the generosity of local businesses and individuals, as well as the dedication and organizational skills of the Chester City Republican Party.
The Chester GOP, a few days before Christmas, spent an entire day distributing turkeys and other food items and a multitude of toys to needy families.
“I am so grateful for the help given to me today,” said Kareemah Turner, the mother of nine children. “It has been such a good, positive experience for me. Our Christmas will be a good one now. I don’t know what I would have done without help.”
GOP member Adora Purnell expressed appreciation to all who assisted with the food and toy drive, with special thanks to The Gold Room, Clinton Johnson, Esq., Tracie Burns, Esq., True Vine Ministries and all the volunteers.
“Our goal is to be a resource for the community and to let people know we are here for them” Purnell said. “This is not about politics or an election; it’s about helping our community.”
GOP committee member Barbara Muhammad said she was delighted with the participation of the community.
“The Chester Republican Party is alive and well and we want our residents to know they can rely on us,” Muhammad said. “There is no cost to doing good and we are here to help our Chester residents.”
