Summer months are usual times for families to hold reunions and come together, but after more than six decades, one local family didn’t wait for any particular season.

After 66 years of being separated, Chester City resident Dianne O’Loughlin said she finally met her brother, Eddie Clark, from Coatsville, Chester County.

O’Loughlin, now 67, said she and her eight siblings entered foster care when their mother, Helen Foster, became too ill to care for them. Three of the siblings, including Clark, were separated from O’Loughlin and the others.

While Clark was raised by his grandparents, O’Loughlin said she was still in foster care with the other siblings.

Her family, she said, is originally from Raleigh, NC, and her mother hitchhiked from there to Chester decades ago.
