Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby has announced that its Advanced Wound Care Center is a recipient of RestorixHealth’s newly launched Wound Center of Excellence awards. The award is presented to centers that meet or exceed national wound care quality benchmarks in areas including healing outcomes and safety, along with a patient satisfaction rate of 95 percent or higher. Mercy Fitzgerald has an overall healing rate of 93 percent and a patient satisfaction rate of 99 percent.
William Urbas, DPM, medical director of the center, said, “We are proud to be a recipient of this award that recognizes the hard work, dedication and quality of care the staff (here) provides to our patients every day.”
Mercy Fitzgerald is the only hospital within Mercy Health System, and one of only four centers across the nation, to receive this distinction from RestorixHealth, a leading wound care management company.
The Advanced Wound Care Center is a specialized, outpatient wound care treatment center dedicated to the care of patients with chronic, non-healing wounds, such as those resulting from diabetes, circulatory problems, or injury resulting from radiation. The center is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team of physicians, nurses offering the most advanced therapies available, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
