ain did not dampen the spirits of the more than 1,200 Brookhaven residents who attended the 25th anniversary of Family Day on Saturday. From great food to games, demonstrations, music and informational booths, it appeared that everyone there had a good time.

“(I take) this opportunity to thank all of our businesses and sponsors,” said event co-chairwoman Betty Kelley, adding, “It is wonderful to see our residents enjoying themselves.”

Even though the event is usually held outdoors, the decision was made early in the morning to move food and activities inside due to the rain. By early afternoon, however, the precipitation had ended and countless numbers of people moved outside to enjoy…
