Officials of Delaware County Council and Boeing will announce on Tuesday the awarding of a $4.4 million county contract to provide a port surveillance system for the Delaware River from Marcus Hook to Hog Island in Tinicum.

Officials will outline the system illustrating plans to develop and install state-of-the-art security surveillance and monitoring systems to detect threats to key resources on the river.

Expected to attend include Council Chairman Jack Whelan; Herb Packer, executive director, PennPORTS; Stephan Oswald, chief operating officer, Boeing Information Solutions; and Waldo Carmona, director, Network Tactical ISR, Boeing Information Solutions.
