“If you cheat your drills, you’ll cheat on your lady,” John Mobley joked with one of the campers on the field. The former Denver Broncos linebacker and co-sponsor of the football camp, Mobley, 37, is a Chester native who, as a child, used to hone his athletic skills at Memorial Park and was born at Community Hospital when it was still known as Sacred Heart Hospital.

This is the fourth time Mobley has come back, hoping to give local kids a positive example of someone who can grow up in Chester and become a success. He believes the camp teaches kids about teamwork and improving upon any other task that takes discipline.

“You can’t get down when things don’t go right,” camp coach Jomo Atkins said…

For the past four years, former NFL linebacker John Mobley has given time and attenion to kids in his native Chester for a week of summer camp. The camp bears his name and Kevin Jones, another Chester native who plays for the Chicgo Bears.
